Job Title: Youth Support Worker (Connected - Outreach & Detached)
We are recruiting for talented and passionate Outreach Workers to join our team
Outreach Work aims to reduce crime by engaging with young people on the streets. The team undertake street-based work within areas identified as anti-social behaviour or hot-spot areas. The primary aim of this work is to engage with, inform and empower young people to deter them from anti-social behaviour. We also aim to inform them and encourage them to attend other sites and/or services/activities which they can engage in rather than being out on the streets.
Person Specification
The successful person will have working knowledge and understanding of the ethics and principles of youth work including strategies that encourage and promote the empowerment and participation of young people. You should have a strong commitment to young people and a thorough knowledge of the issues they face. You will gain an in depth understanding of our fantastic Theory of Change which supports young people to develop positive relationships.
Delivery
As directed by Lead Youth Worker, ensure that programme area is delivered in accordance with agreed contracts, budgets, objectives, standards, evaluation frameworks, and areas of compliance.
Deliver face to face programmes for young people.
People
Support and monitor the work of external partners and volunteers as required to deliver project work to ensure effective performance of the contract.
Managing resources
Ensure effective use of resources in place to ensure delivery of programme(s). Ensure Lead Youth Worker understands any programme requirements.
Ensure that programme(s) operate effectively within agreed budgets and annual performance targets.
Ensure programme(s) deliver on all areas of quality and legislative compliance e.g. Health and Safety and Safeguarding.
Contribute to developments in policies and procedures.
Monitoring and evaluation
Deliver evaluation processes, to record programme performance against agreed objectives.
Support Lead Youth Worker with a continuous review of programme(s) performance in relation to sector best practice.
Identify and deliver on areas of improvement for programme(s) e.g. structure, programmes, practices, policies and technology.
Building relationships
Manage and develop key partnership arrangements across a range of colleagues, agencies, stakeholders, funders, and partners.
Connect young people with relevant organisations.

Essential
Experience of working with children, young people and their families
Experience of delivering programmes for young people, working directly with young people
Knowledge and experience of relevant areas of compliance e.g. Health and Safety, Safeguarding, risk assessments
Experience of implementing monitoring, evaluation and performance frameworks
Experience of managing diverse relationships
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable
NVQ Level 2 or above (or equivalent) in Youth or Community work or substantial experience.
Previous experience of Detached or Outreach
Experience working with young people on a one-to-one level who are NEET, Children Looked After, and delivery of programmes working with young people with SEND.
Knowledge of MS Office with good IT skills
Driving Licence D1+E.

Salary: £22,500 - £26,000 per annum - pro rata (DOE)
Days/Hours of work: Various roles ranging from 6-12 hours per week (various evenings including weekends)
