THinK: Teenage Health in Knowsley

THinK was designed as an overall approach to young people's health and wellbeing. This includes issues such as mental health, sexual health, healthy eating, or child exploitation.

We work with 6 secondary schools (Lord Derby Academy, St Edmunds Arrowsmith, Prescot School, Meadow Park, All Saints, Kirkby High) and support the school nurses in a weekly 'drop in' where young people can come and access support and signposting in a confidential setting. We promote the youth clubs, projects and events and also work alongside the health calendar, creating activities based on special dates, Alcohol Awareness, Internet Safety Day, Healthy relationships on Valentine's Day, etc.

We also run THinK Clinics, which are based in Halewood on a Monday and Kirkby on a Thursday and are a teenage only session (up to 19). These are drop in only, so no appointment required. Our role is to welcome and sign in young people, offer support or answer questions and provide signposting and any extra information if required. This service allows young people to access different methods of contraception, testing and advice in a confidential setting.

The THinK website has been designed to give young people one place where they can turn to seek help, information, and get the support they need.
